The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) released their 2010 football awards and final standings. GRCC finished the season ranked first in the nation in team total offense, fifth in team rushing offense, eighth in team rushing defense, 16th in team passing offense, 18th in team total defense.
Offensive lineman Carlin Landingham made the NJCAA All-American Second Offensive team as well as the Region 4 First team.
Defensive lineman Carlton Johnson made the NJCAA All-American First Defensive team along with defensive back Troy Smith. Smith was also ranked 11th in individual pass defense. Johnson and Smith were also named to the Region 4 First team.
Quarterback James Stallons finished the season ranked 19th in individual passing and 22nd in individual total offense in NJCAA standings. Stallons was also listed on the Region 4 First team.
Dominique Douglas was ranked 23rd in NJCAA standings for individual pass receiving and named to the Region 4 First team as wide receiver.
Defensive back Tevin Kellum finished the season ranked fifth in NJCAA standings while Evan Ray also a defensive back was ranked 24th. Both Kellum and Ray were named to the Region 4 Second team.
Jacob Payne was ranked 19th in individual scoring for non kicking in the NJCAA standings and named wide receiver on the Region 4 First team.
Juwan Hemphill finished the season ranked 15th in NJCAA standings for kick/punt returns and as the return specialist on the Region 4 First team.
Greg Cognetto finished the season ranked 24th in NJCAA standings for kicking.
Running back Jeremiah Goins, offensive linemen Devante Jones and Dion Howze were also named to the Region 4 First team.
Linebackers Dan Vess, Nick Reyna and Charles Burrell, defensive lineman Nick Dekraker and A’Ronde Stanton, running back Richard Haley, and tight end Dennis Merritt were all named to the Region 4 Second team. GRCC is now ranked eighth in the nation going into the 2011 season.
