Artists aged 18 or over are eligible to enter artwork for this year’s ArtPrize 9.
This event provides college students with the opportunity to show their work at an event attended by thousands.
Registration is open until June 8. The application fee for an individual artist is $50 and for a group is $100. You can register here.
“There is no limit to the number of artists that could participate,” said Jaenell Woods, spokeswoman for ArtPrize.
Once registered, artists may apply for an Artist Seed Grant. Artists must secure a venue before they can receive the grant. Only 25 artists will receive the grant, which is competitive. The application for the grant will only ask two questions:
- What makes your project different than others?
- How long do you think your project will take and how much do you think it will cost?
Woods said artists can register and create a profile for themselves and their entry until June 8. Then, artists and venues are able to connect and find each other until June 22.
Woods said last year’s ArtPrize 8 brought over 500,000 visitors.
“ArtPrize offers a unique opportunity for artists who are interested in engaging with a diverse and engaged public on a scale unlike any other event,” Woods said.
