The highly anticipated and critically acclaimed Broadway musical “Wicked” will make its debut performance in Grand Rapids at Devos Performance Hall.
“Wicked” details the story of Oz before Dorothy arrived. There is an unlikely friendship between rivals Elphaba, the wicked witch of the west, and Glinda the good witch. The pair must decide how to cope when the world labels one as wicked and the other as good.
The award-winning musical will be performed by the Broadway touring cast. Since “Wicked” began touring in 2005, the show has been performed in over 30 cities in the United States and Canada. After the premiere of “Wicked” in 2003, the production has been shown by several accredited theatres in countries including England, Australia, and Japan.
The opening night of “Wicked” will be presented at 7 p.m. on Oct. 18 at Devos Performance Hall. There will be a total of 23 performances from Oct. 18 – Nov. 5. Tickets can be purchased at the box office at 303 Monroe Ave. or online at Ticketmaster.
Currently, there is limited seating available for “Wicked,” but there will be an opportunity to win discounted tickets the day of the performance.
