The GRCC softball team is currently on a 10-game winning streak to start the 2012 season.
The Raiders dropped their first five games during their spring trip to Florida, but managed to win their final eight games before heading back home to begin conference play.
In the last three games of the trip the Raiders managed to squeak out one run wins against its opponents.
The team opened the season against conference rival Jackson CC Jets in a double-header on Saturday, March 24.
In the first game the Raiders had only seven hits in route to a 2-0 shutout. Pitcher Kayla Goodwin picked up the win and Emily Karbutowski earned the save.
In the second game, the Raiders bats got hot early scoring eight runs in inning giving GRCC an 8-2 lead.
From there they wouldn’t look back adding three mores runs winning 11-3. Five players for Raiders had at least two hits.
The Raiders will be home at Belknap Park on Saturday, March 31 hosting Glen Oaks CC in a double-header.
First pitch for game one is scheduled for 1:00 P.M.
