The GRCC softball team went on a 14 game winning streak before it was snapped by conference rival the Kalamazoo Community College Cougars.
Since the fast start to the season, the Raiders have dropped their last five out of six games.
The Raiders have been piling on the runs all-season long, but seemed to have gone cold when they traveled to Kalamazoo to take on the Cougars.
They lost the double-header and failed to score a run in both games.
The Cougars won the first game 10-0 and the second game 4-0, holding the Raiders to only five hits in both games on Thursday, April 5.
While on the streak, GRCC softball head coach Paula Maloley told her players to take it one game at a time.
Despite the losses, the Raiders have a lot to build off heading into the rest of the season.
The Raiders would drop another two games at #13 Muskegon Community College on Friday, April 6.
The Raiders lost the first game 8-3 and the second game 8-0.
The Raiders would end the five game losing streak managing to split with Kellogg Community College on Saturday, April 7.
They dropped the first game 2-0, but bounced back to win the second game 5-3.
Following the rough patch, the team has battled to a 15-10 record just past the halfway point of the season.
The Raiders are scheduled for three home games this week, Thursday – Saturday at Belknap Park.
On Thursday, April 12 the Raiders battle Ancilla at 3:30 p.m. and Friday, April 13 they take on Lake Michigan College at 3:00 p.m.
The Raiders finish the home stretch against Jackson on Saturday, April 14 and first pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. All games are double-headers.
