The GRCC Business Department will be hosting the 2012 Idea Pitch Competition on Oct. 29th at 6:00 p.m in the Calkins Science Building Auditorium.
The contest seeks to present entrepreneurially inclined students with the challenge of successfully pitching their business plans to a group of judges in 90 seconds using only their presentation skills.
Fifteen individual students will be presenting ideas including self-adjusting bras and a youth abstinence program.
They will be judged on whether their message was conveyed clearly and with the passion necessary to leave a lasting impression.
$800 will be awarded to first place, while $300 will go to 2nd place and $100 to third place. The contest is held at a number of colleges in West Michigan, including Grand Valley, Calvin, Hope, Aquinas and Cornerstone. The Regional Competition will be held on Nov. 7 at Aquinas College where the top two contestants from each college will compete for upwards of $1,500.
