What was your inspiration?
“The beauty of northern Michigan”
How long did it take you to complete?
“About 400 hours.”
What was the most challenging part?
“Working this large, you have to work flat to get all the detail, but then you have to put it on the wall and make sure it’s reading well from a distance.”
How are people responding to your artwork?
“They love it. They think it’s a painting or a photograph but when they get up closer they’re just so fascinated that it’s fabric.”
What would you do with the money if he won?
“Buy some fabric, a new sewing machine, expand our gallery… and put some money away for retirement.”
