What was your inspiration?
“I really enjoy Buckminster Fuller’s Geodesic Dome and it inspired me to create my piece.”
How long did it take to create your entry?
“It took about a month’s time to create all the parts of my piece, which I then assembled once I got to Grand Rapids, prior to the beginning of ArtPrize.”
What was the most challenging part?
“The most difficult part of this experience has been trying to see my piece in mind’s eye without actually seeing it prior to arriving in Grand Rapids and setting it up.”
Do you have a background in art?
“I moved into being an artist at age 40. I currently work to turn geodesic domes into challenge courses, which is also why I decided to be a part of ArtPrize.”
What would you do with the money if you win?
“If I were to win the money I would pay a bunch of bills. What I’d really like to win is best use of urban space.”
