The Grand Rapids Community College women’s volleyball team went to nationals the weekend before Thanksgiving in Perrysburg, Ohio. While there they played four different teams: Catawba Valley Community College, Parkland College, Des Moines Area Community College, and Southwestern Community College.

The team won against both CVCC and DMACC, allowing them to take 6th place. Freshman Rosalyn Wyse believes the team played well.

“I don’t think we played to our full potential, but I do believe we gave 100 percent effort and never once forgot our goal of becoming national champions,” she said. Wyse plays outside hitter for the Raiders, “Sixth place is good… This was quite an accomplishment considering how young our team is.”

The Raiders ended the season with a overall record of 33-8.
