Spring is in the air with the 26th annual West Michigan Golf Show, taking place this weekend at the DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids.

With over 30 exhibitors, including booths by both the Michigan PGA and PGA of America, the event offers a lot of information, tips, tricks and products for those who love all things golf.

“Were just really excited to get our name out there,” said Chris McCann, Director of Golf for Northport Creek Golf Course and one of the exhibitors at the event. “Were opening in July and this is our first year at the golf show. Grand Rapids is our area, we’re excited to be at the convention.”

Headliners this year include 2013 PGA Teacher Of The Year Lou Guzzi who will be conducting free seminars all weekend. Other guests include Bobby Wilson, long drive champion and clinic conductor for over 25 years.

Events will entail putting contests, golf simulators, demo products and the popular Par-3 Challenge, a real 3-hole course visitors can play over the weekend for unique prizes. They transform a quarter of the Devos Place into a real green, complete with water hazards and sand traps.

“I’m excited because I played golf in high school, and it’s exciting to come out here and get ready for spring,” says Karissa Raschke, WMGS attendee. “I feel ready for spring.”

Tickets are $10 for adults and $4 for children. The West Michigan Golf Show will be open until 7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Sunday.
