Early on Feb. 25, a man was found deceased in the Heritage Hill area with no clear cause of death.
The man, who was later identified as Danny Lester, 40, was pronounced dead at the scene.
One witness believed Lester to be asleep.
“The first person who called us thought he was just asleep,” said Lt. Pat Merrill, 44. “We sent a car out there and it turns out, he had passed away.”
Without being on the sidewalk, not many would have noticed Lester.
“If you just drove by, you probably would not have seen him with how he was positioned, ” said Merrill. “He was viewable from the sidewalk but you really couldn’t see until you got right up on him.”
Lester was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Feb. 25 News Release, toxicology results from his autopsy will take a few weeks before an official cause of death can be determined.
Lester’s family was contacted and notified.
Foul play is not suspected in this case.
