Grand Rapids Community College is celebrating its 100-year anniversary, and there are three reasons you should be stoked: BBQ ribs, chicken, and hotdogs. Here’s the kicker: it’s all free!

GRCC will be hosting a community picnic from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Ford Fieldhouse. That’s right, everything is free, from parking in the ramp, to the food.

“We want everyone to join in our celebration,” GRCC President, Steven Ender said in a press release. “The West Michigan community has supported us for 100 years — we’re celebrating that and what this partnership will bring in the next century.”

Aside from chicken, hot dogs, and barbecue ribs, there will also be an assortment of family-friendly activities such as games, crafts and a photo-booth. You can also stop by the GRCC story van to share stories about your experiences at the college.

According to Director of Communications Leah Nixon, the planning committee is expecting about one thousand attendees, so if you plan on going, be sure to arrive early enough to score some food!
