Grand Rapids Community College will be rededicating Peter C. and Pat Cook Academic Hall tomorrow in a ceremony at 2 p.m.

The event will be hosted in room 423 of Cook Hall, 143 Bostwick Ave. NE. The short ceremony will include tours of the renovated space. GRCC President Steven Ender, and Custer Inc. owner and GRCC alum, Dave Custer, will be speaking during the event.

GRCC’s Executive Director of Operational Planning, Victoria Janowiak, has overseen the project since the renovations started back in 2007.

“Tomorrow’s event is the accumulation of seven year’s worth of work…This is our opportunity to show the donors the outcome of their investments,“ Janowiak said.

The renovations include simulation technology for nursing, dental, radiologic technology and occupational therapy assisting programs, along with academic support labs for language arts, health programs and business. The new renovations also include additional study spaces for students.

Cook Hall started as the North Building at GRCC when it opened in 1971. The renovation projects started in 2007. At that time the building was renamed Peter C. and Pat Cook Academic Hall.
