Grand Rapids Community College Campus Dining is  to host a cookout for the campus community from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.

“(The cookout) is a celebration of education, and the GRCC staff and faculty for the work they do,” said Daniel Zehr, director of Campus Dining, who said he considers it an appreciation event.

Students and faculty can take a break from lesson plans and books and instead look forward to a lunch event among friends, as they chow down on hot dogs, chips and potato salad.

The barbecue will be held on the grass area between Sneden and Mabel Engle Buildings. Campus Dining will provide the food while supplies last.
