On July 21 at 8:46 a.m. workers from Mckinley Masonry & Concrete finished pouring a 370 sq. ft cement pad at the entrance to G-1 Cook Hall. There were boot prints (two right and two left) size 11 in the cement and it appeared that the person slipped and fell. Also, a one by two foot design that the someone appeared to use his fingers to complete. It was later discovered to be a GRCC employee that fell, but they did not make the design.
On Aug. 10 at 8:46 a.m. a female student was seen smoking on campus. An officer asked if she knew about the no smoking policy at GRCC. She said she did, but thought she just couldn’t smoke in front of buildings. The officer explained to her the rules and she put out the cigarette. The incident has been turned over to the Student Conduct office after a supervisory review.
On Aug. 11 at 1:20 p.m. a man was found lying on the floor on the sixth level of the Bostwick ramp. The man, 56, was found with a bottle of vodka and a duffle bag. The officer then obtained his ID and found nothing on his record. After being given a warning for trespassing, the officer explained the campus boundaries and escorted him off campus.
On Aug. 12 at 8:27 a.m. an officer was called to an elevator emergency in Cook Hall, where a professor was trapped in elevator. Utilities was then called and they opened doors. The professor was not harmed, but had been stuck in the elevator for nearly an hour.
On Aug. 14 at 8:57 a.m. a construction worker fell off of a 7-foot a ladder. He said he hurt his hip and asked to be taken to the hospital. He received X-rays, and it was discovered that he had a broken hip, requiring surgery.
