The Grand Rapids Community College Players are set to perform the drama “All My Sons” this Thursday.
The Arthur Miller play takes place during World War II, when the main character Joe Keller was accused of being mechanically responsible for the deaths of 21 pilots. His business partner Herbert Deever, also responsible, was the only one of the two convicted of the crime. Once the truth is exposed to the families, it takes a toll on the children of both due to the emotional damage the war had on them.
GRCC student Allie Dells plays the role of Sue Bayliss who lives next door to the Kellers with her husband Dr. Jim Bayliss. She said the play is about “the dark side of the American dream.”
The actors warned that the play may not be for everyone because of its emotionally heavy content.
The show will premiere at 8 p.m. Thursday and will continue through Saturday. Tickets are $10 for the public and $3 for GRCC students and can be purchased at the Spectrum Theatre box office.
