This week’s list of events includes a hockey game, comedy show, live music and some things to do with your RaiderCard.
This is the last weekend to catch American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Admission is free with the RaiderCard and the exhibit is open during the museum’s normal hours of operations. Jan. 17 marks the 95th anniversary of the 18th amendment, which established the prohibition of alcoholic beverages in the United States. On Saturday the Grand Rapids Symphony Musician’s Association will perform live jazz outside of the exhibit from 1-3 p.m.
The RaiderCard will get you free admission to Grand Rapids Public Museum, Gerald R. Ford Museum, John Ball Zoo and Grand Rapids Children’s Museum. It will also get students a discount at all Celebration Cinema locations.
The Grand Rapids Griffins will face off against the Lake Erie Monsters at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Van Andel Arena. Ticket prices range from $16-$35 depending on seat choice, but tickets purchased day of the game are increased by $3. Beer and hot dogs are on special for $2 every Friday from 6-8 p.m.
