Grand Rapids Community College is holding an exam cram to help students get in extra study time and help with courses the week before exams.
GRCC Academic Support and Tutoring, Campus Activities Board and the Library and Learning Center collaborated to host the event. Tutors will be available for help in most subjects, and drop-in tutoring will be available Dec. 10 and 11.
“Students can get immediate help if needed while studying,” said Student Alliance President Jose Garcia, 26.
Garcia and the Student Alliance worked together with Academic Support and Tutoring and the Library and Learning Center to organize the exam cram.
Students can work in groups or individually while studying in a quiet area. The Associate Director of the Academic Support and Tutoring services, Don VanOveren, has a few tips for students while getting ready for final exams.
“Study early and do workshops,” VanOveren said. “Putting in the time all semester to study, not just quickly before the test, will help you learn the material long term.Going over small chunks over a long period of time could help as well. I would suggest going to the exam cram, tutors will be available.”
The exam cram will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Dec. 5-11 in the Library and Learning Commons. There will be free snacks for students who attend.
