In an effort to provide free entertainment for the student body, Grand Rapids Community College is hosting Night at the Y, a free event for any Raider this Saturday.
Night at the Y is an event that has been going on for four years now and is taking place at 7:30 p.m. Sat., Jan. 28 at the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids, 475 Lake Michigan Dr.
“I feel like we host this event because it is tradition,” said Campus Activities Board President Ruben Resendiz. “This event is supposed to be fun and is for students to enjoy part of their tuition. Hosting Night at the Y is a way for us to put their money to good use and give back.”
Attendance is usually around 400 attendees. With reserving space at the YMCA, any GRCC student is allowed to have access to anything in the facility – besides workout machines – from 7:30 p.m. until 11 p.m. GRCC students, with their RaiderCard, are allowed to bring friends, family, and any guests that they would like.
“This event is an opportunity to bring together students in a fun way,” Resendiz said.
