A partnership has been made in order to benefit the students of Grand Rapids Community College. On Feb. 25, GRCC is sponsoring the Grand Rapids Drive, Detroit’s National Basketball Association Developmental League team, game against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
“We have entered into a partnership with the Drive as a corporate sponsor,” said GRCC Associate Dean of Enrollment Management and Financial Aid, Eric Mullen.
The game on Feb. 25 will be GRCC’s “Night at the Drive.”
As part of the sponsorship, GRCC will partner up with Grand Rapids Drive for this game. Grand Rapids Drive players will also wear the GRCC logo on their jerseys. Many promotions are planned for this game.
One promotion will be a 50/50 raffle.
“There will be a 50/50 raffle that night and a game worn jersey auction, with proceeds going to our student athletic scholarships,” Mullen said.
There will also be discounted tickets available and other details are being finalized.
“Student Life will be coordinating these details via OrgSync,” Mullen said. “GRCC students will be able to log in using their GRCC email and password to get more details.”
Plans are being finalized and details will be sent out when they are available. Other plans that are being finalized include whether players of the Drive will be appearing on campus and how students can be involved. The game will start at 7 p.m. at the DeltaPlex, the homecourt of the Grand Rapids Drive.
