Michigan Blood will be hosting a blood drive Wednesday, Feb. 8. From 11 a.m. till 5 p.m. in the Multi Purpose Room on the second floor of the Student Center.

“Every time you donate blood you save potentially up to three lives, so it’s extremely important for students to donate blood,” said Kaylee Wolff, Campus Activities Board adviser. “For example, I have a rare blood type, B-neg. If I needed B-neg blood it would be difficult for me to get it. There a high need for blood right now.”

Michigan Blood is a locally operated blood center serving primarily Michigan hospitals in their blood needs. They host blood drives across the state on a regular basis.

“We do them every eight weeks so we have four a year, two in the fall semester and two in the winter. After this wednesday the next will be in April,” Wolff said.
All students who attempt to donate will receive a voucher for a free pizza. Appointments are preferred and can be made online. If you have any questions regarding the blood drive, contact Wolff at 616-234-4160.
