The Week ahead features a number of activities to enjoy throughout Grand Rapids.
“PARTS,” a local electronic duo will be performing at 7 p.m., tonight at the Grand Rapids Public Library, 111 Library Street NE. The duo will be playing while guests are invited to browse the library’s selection of books and media. The event is free and open to the public.
Rory Scovel will be performing at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., Friday Mar. 17 at the Pyramid Scheme, 68 Commerce Avenue SW. The South Carolina comedian will be performing as part of Grand Rapids’ Annual Laughfest, a 10 day annual comedy festival. Tickets are $25 and guests age 21 and above are welcome.
“Bit Brigade” and special guests will be playing at 7 p.m., Saturday Mar. 18 at the Intersection, 133 Grandville Avenue. Opening will be “Playing with Power,” and “Knights of the Round.” This video game music themed show will appeal to all gamers. Tickets are $10. Guests of all ages are welcome.
“The Drunken Retort” is hosted at 8 p.m. every Monday night at Stella’s Lounge, 53 Commerce Avenue. The night features local poetry, acoustic music and comedy. The event is free and features several drink specials. Guests aged 21 and up are welcome.
“Super Troopers” a film by and starring the Broken Lizard comedy group will be screened at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Mar. 21 at The Wealthy Theater, 1130 Wealthy Street. SE. The film is a 2001 comedy/cop film featuring a small police force dealing with departmental rivalries as well as a large drug smuggling operation. Tickets are $6 for non-members and $5 for members. Members can also purchase alcohol at the theater. Guests of all ages are welcome.
