The Week Ahead 4/7-11

The Week Ahead features plenty of fun activities to check out in the Grand Rapids area.

Coffin Problem, Glassfield, and Fronts will be performing at 9 p.m. Friday at the Pyramid Scheme, 68 Commerce Ave SW. The show celebrates the Coffin Problem/Glassfield 7 inch vinyl split release. Tickets are $8. Guests age 21 and above are welcome.

Dirtyphonics, Phiso, Kompany, and special guests will be performing at 8 p.m. Saturday at The Intersection, 133 Grandville Ave. Dirtyphonics is an electronic duo from Paris, France. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Guests age 16 and up with I.D. are welcome.

“The Drunken Retort” is hosted at 8 p.m. every Monday night at Stella’s Lounge, 53 Commerce Avenue. The night features local poetry, acoustic music and comedy. The event is free and features several drink specials. Guests ages 21 and up are welcome.


The film “Twister,” starring Bill Paxton and Jodie Foster will be screened at 8 p.m. Tuesday at The Wealthy Theater, 1130 Wealthy Street SE. The film follows a group of tornado chasers in search of the “big one” to test their meteorological equipment.  Tickets are $6 for non-members and $5 for members. Members can also purchase alcohol at the theater. Guests of all ages are welcome.
