U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos is scheduled to be on the Grand Rapids Community College campus Tuesday afternoon.
DeVos will begin her visit at GRCC inside the Applied Technology Center where as she will view and visit the classroom spaces inside the building. Afterward, she will head to Tassell M-Tec for a similar tour.
The specific purpose of her visit has yet to be released. The Collegiate will provide updates as they come.
A prominent West Michigan native, DeVos is no stranger to Grand Rapids Community College. In 2013, the Richard & Helen DeVos foundation donated $1.5 million to the Grand Rapids Community College Foundation. For more information on DeVos’s donations read the article.
Reporters are invited to attend the end of the tour when DeVos is expected to answer media questions.
DeVos will be on campus between 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
