Wednesday, Dec. 6, the Grand Rapids Community College Campus Activities Board will hold the second day of activities for the fall semester Final Relaxer.

“Usually we just host them on the week before exams actually start so that students can destress,” said Brianna Castillo, President of the Campus Activities Board. “People get really overwhelmed with stuff and we kind want to reduce all of the stress they are dealing with.”

There will be three activities going on throughout the day and the full list of events is  below.

  • Warm Up with CAB at Dr. Juan R. Olivarez Student Plaza (Bostwick Commons). There will be hot cocoa, coffee, and cookies. This will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
  • The Season of Giving will be held at Raider Grille from noon to 2 p.m. There will be free scarves, games, and activities like create your own bath bombs and a massage therapist.

During this time participants are able to decorate bags for Kids Food Basket as well as write thank you letters to soldiers in other countries.

  • “Turn up the Heat” will be held at the Multi-Purpose Room on the second floor of the Student Center Building. Beth Damon, a GRCC exercise science faculty member, will be holding a free Zumba session from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.

“Our main focus in general is to make students happy on campus (and) give them a better college experience,” Castillo said.

At the events, students will have the chance to win free tickets to the Grand Rapids Drive basketball game on Dec. 8.
