Every year, the Grand Rapids Community College Visual Arts Department provides a platform for ArtPrize artists to discuss their art and creative process with students and the community, and this year is no exception.
An ArtPrize Discussion Panel will be held Monday, Sept. 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Auditorium room 168 in the ATC building.
The artists featured at this event are Kristin Casaletto, Jay Constantine and Jonathan Lopez (a.k.a. The “Clay Alchemist”). There will be a presentation by each artist followed by an opportunity for the public to ask questions.
“The question and answer session is always enjoyable,” GRCC’s Visual Arts Department Head Nick Antonakis stated in an email to The Collegiate. “It allows everyone to draw closer to the artists and increase their understanding over what these professionals are trying to communicate.”
Each of these artists’ works can be viewed at the GRCC Collins Art Gallery venue on the fourth floor of the Main Building. ArtPrize 10 runs through Oct. 7 with first-round voting ending at 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 29.
