The four Grand Rapids Community College Board of Trustees candidates looking to fill the two available seats on the board have been invited to a community forum from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30 in room 108 of Sneden Hall on the DeVos Campus, located at 415, East Fulton St.
Time will be allotted to each candidate for a five-minute introduction, brief biography and statement of why they wish to represent the community as a Board of Trustee member. Each candidate will be asked three questions and response times will be limited to two minutes each.
The topics covered will include: the college’s values, the college’s ends as a series of pathways and the role of the board and its members in a policy governance model.
An Academic Governing Council member will mediate the final portion of the event where students, faculty and the general public can ask questions if they wish.
