Grand Rapids Community College planned a multitude of events each day this week in honor of homecoming. Thursday’s event will be a pep rally held outside in the Juan Olivarez Student Plaza from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The event is being planned by Jocelyn Medina, vice president of the Campus Activities Board at GRCC. This is Medina’s first time helping with a college pep rally, but she has past experience.
“I did pep rallies in high school but none in college,” Medina stated in an email to The Collegiate. “It’s a whole different world with more possibilities here at GRCC!”
Those who attend the pep rally will have the opportunity to receive free food from food trucks and enjoy music from a live DJ. There will also be games and giveaways.
The pep rally will be held on Thursday, Jan. 17 and is an opportunity for GRCC students to show their school spirit and prepare for the tailgate and homecoming basketball games the following day.
