The threat of heavy snow and dangerously cold temperatures has forced Grand Rapids Community College to close its doors for all classes on Monday, Jan. 28. The school alerted students and staff late Sunday night at 9:45 p.m. that all campuses will be closed Monday.
According to the National Weather Service’s website, heavy snow will develop late tonight and carry into tomorrow morning and continue throughout the day. There is a potential for eight to 12 inches of snow accumulation. GRCC officials decided the threat was serious enough to pull the trigger on the cancellation. If the forecasts hold true, those officials will have the same decision to make going into Tuesday morning.
