The Collegiate Podcast Episode 1: Government shutdown, Instagram egg, Emily Pendred and more

Welcome to the first episode of The Collegiate Podcast, Grand Rapids Community College’s source for news, sports and entertainment. Listeners familiar with the Fast Break Sports Podcast will find Mike and Aaron still talking sports with the help of Matthew Scheidel, while Tatiana Diaz and Jack Hervela cover news, and everyone chips in bringing the entertainment news that defined their week.

This week, Tatiana and Jack touch on where our government stands in its 26th day of a partial shutdown, the rededication of GRCC’s Gerald R. Ford Fieldhouse and The Collegiate’s fall semester magazine.

Mike, Aaron and Matthew jump in with Jack and Tatiana to discuss the hottest shows out right now, which shows they’re looking forward to the release of and a band that is coming to Grand Rapids that Tatiana will covering. Plus they’re break down the famous Instagram egg.

In the Fast Break segment, the guys give their predictions on who will win the AFC and NFC Championships this weekend. Plus, they have special guest Emily Pendred of the GRCC women’s basketball team in studio. She discusses the team’s performance thus far, how she came back from a torn ACL and her favorite kind of pasta.
