After what seems like a small eternity Grand Rapids Community College is opening its doors to limited in-person classes once again. However, it’s going to be different than it once was and masks are required.
While most GRCC instruction will be online this fall, the college is doing some in person learning with health protocols in place. The rules are pretty simple if you are indoors or outside without being six feet apart you must wear a mask. Those who fail to comply will be asked to leave. Those who refuse to mask up or to leave, may be escorted off the premises by campus police.
While everyone is advised to arrive on campus with a mask on, students who arrive without a mask, will be able to get one at designated locations.
“We’ll have some in our office here at Student Life as well as a couple other locations on campus one of those being campus police,” said Lina Blair, GRCC’s Director of Student Life and Conduct.
The GRCC bookstore is also selling packs of reusable masks along with other sanitary supplies. Students can purchase a pack of six reusable masks for $33 or a pack of two for $11.95. With these you can choose from a range of colors including navy blue, deep crimson, maroon, hunter green, bright red, royal blue, deep purple and jet black. The bookstore is also stocking no-touch key chains for $7.95 and hand sanitizer.
