In this edition of Five Questions and a Sketch we continue our editor introductions and feature our very own Editor-at-Large, Jamie Miller. He is a 22-year-old from Hastings who moved to Caledonia at a young age. Miller has worked for The Collegiate for a year now and is aiming to earn an english degree. While most people are asleep Jamie Miller is busy writing storylines for comic books and his own entertainment column aptly titled Night Light.
Why did you join The Collegiate?
Honestly… it was an open class and a credit and turns out, I excel at it and it’s a way to make a difference.
What are you looking forward to writing about this semester?
The election and Trump’s misdeeds as they MUST be revealed so that the readers can get the full story.
What are your goals for after you leave GRCC?
Somewhere down the line, I want to become a comic book writer.
What was the inspiration behind your Night Light column?
Honestly, Mrs. (Jennifer Ackerman-)Haywood suggested I do a column and I love doing reviews. …I picked the name Night Light because I am often up late at night and I fell in love with (writing) it.
If you could pick one superpower what would it be and why?
Hmmmm….. probably either power suppression that way I could take down anyone else with powers or Umbrakinesis aka the power to control and harness darkness and shadows as I feel at home in the dark. And come on, who wouldn’t want to be able to bring shadow puppets to life or drag bad guys into the darkness?!
Have suggestions about who I should feature next? Drop me a tip at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’d love to hear from you!
