Suspicious Situation in the Bookstore
At 3:53 p.m on Feb. 3, Grand Rapids Community College Police Officer Kam Robles and Officer Ryan Ford were dispatched to a suspicious situation in the GRCC Bookstore. The officers were advised that a student became upset when he was not able to return a textbook. The bookstore staff directed the student to the Registrar’s Office so he could get proof that he dropped the class that was associated with the textbook. This proof would allow for the textbook’s return and refund. The student then claimed that he would “knock out” the employees on-site if he wasn’t “civilized” and then he left the area.
The Registrar’s Office, GRCC Bookstore, and the areas in between were searched but the subject was not found.
Afterward, surveillance footage was reviewed and the subject was seen leaving campus westbound on Lyon Street NE.
