Grand Rapids Community College will host three COVID-19 vaccination clinics during the fall semester.

The vaccination clinics are part of GRCC’s COVID-19 Response Program that has worked tirelessly since the beginning of the global shutdown. GRCC continues to be proactive about their virus mitigation effort:

  • Face coverings and surface cleaning supplies in every classroom
  • Single person tables installed in all general purpose classrooms
  • Hand sanitizer stations installed campus wide
  • FEND dispensers made available
  • Permanent air purification systems to improve indoor air quality

GRCC’s first fall semester clinic will be this Saturday, Aug. 28, during the Raider Rally. Students can receive their vaccine from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Juan R. Olivarez Student Plaza.

Another clinic will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 8, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Juan R. Olivarez Student Plaza. There will also be a clinic on the same day from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Leslie M. Tassell M-TEC building.

The final scheduled clinic is Tuesday, Sept. 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Holland Lakeshore campus.

Students who are fully vaccinated by Nov. 15 will receive a $200 incentive added to their RaiderCard accounts, with the funds available to pay for parking, bookstore supplies, printing and campus dining.

GRCC listed the following requirements for students to be eligible to receive the incentive in a press release:

“The vaccination incentive program is available to students enrolled in an in-person, hybrid, virtual, or online credit course, clock-hour Job Training program, or apprenticeship program that begins between Aug. 30 and Dec. 16, 2021. Eligible students must meet this enrollment definition at the time incentive funds are disbursed to their RaiderCards and have achieved fully vaccinated status any time on or before Nov. 15, 2021.”

Students must log into their Online Center and complete the form titled “GRCC Vaccine Incentive” in order to verify their vaccination and receive their incentive. Incentive funds will begin to roll out in September for students that have submitted their forms.

Overall incentive funds are limited as nearly 2,000 students have already registered for their incentives. GRCC employees are not eligible to sign up for the incentive.

GRCC President Pink could not be reached for comment.
