The city of Grand Rapids odd-even and one-side seasonal parking went into effect on Monday, Nov. 1.
From Nov. 1 to April 1, those who commute to campus via personal vehicles and park on city streets or live near campus on seasonal parking streets must follow these rules in order to avoid parking violations:
- On even dates between 1 a.m. and 6 p.m., park on the side of the street with even addresses.
- On odd dates between 1 a.m. and 6 p.m., park on the side of the street with odd addresses.
- Between 6 p.m. and 1 a.m. on each day of the week, parking is permitted on either side of the street. However, remember to move your vehicle by 1 a.m. to the correct side of the street in order to avoid parking violations.
- Parking is prohibited at all times on posted side of streets.
These rules are implemented to allow city street sweeping and snow plowing services to maintain roads properly throughout the fall and winter seasons. Road signs can be located on seasonal parking streets to further assist commuters in identifying where to park.
