Grand Rapids Community College will host their first vaccine clinic of the winter semester on Wednesday, Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The clinic will be set up in the Raider Grille located on the second floor of the Student Center and will be available for all students, staff, and GRCC community members.

The clinic will be offering the first and second shot of the vaccine as well as booster shots.

There is no appointment needed for the clinic, but attendees can fill out the vaccine form in advance.

GRCC has hosted vaccine clinics throughout the 2021-22 school year, with about 300 people getting the shot. The college has encouraged students to get the vaccine through these clinics.

“We know vaccines and booster shots have proven to be effective in preventing serious illness and hospitalization, and our hope is to have additional vaccination clinics on our campus in the months ahead,” said GRCC Communications Director Dave Murray in a previous interview with the Collegiate. “We encourage students to recognize the symptoms, and stay home if they are not feeling well.”

GRCC does not require the vaccine for students, but does require masks on campus and follows necessary social distancing guidelines.
