Grand Rapids Community College is welcoming all students receiving GRCC Foundation scholarships to the Applied Technology Center on campus to learn where the scholarships come from, how the college can support students, and more.
The workshop will be held in person on two different days in case anyone has schedule conflicts. Session one will be Friday July 15 from 9 a.m to 10 a.m. and session two is Wednesday July 27 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
There are three additional sessions that are strictly virtual as well. Wednesday July 20 at 4 p.m., Thursday July 21 at noon, and Thursday July 28 at 5 p.m. These sessions are all one hour long.
Students will be guided through learning who provided the scholarships. Each student will be assisted in writing a thank you note to the scholarship sponsors. Unlike in 2020 when this was waived, this scholarship workshop will be mandatory this year. The workshop will also discuss free services available to students such as where to get food if you don’t have enough.
Kathryn Mullins, Vice President of the GRCC Foundation, added that these workshops will continue every summer for students who have been granted scholarships for the next school year. Note that these sessions are only for GRCC Foundation granted scholarships, and are not required for external scholarships.
If you’ve received a scholarship for the upcoming academic year and would like to sign up for one of the virtual workshops, please RSVP here. You can see the same page for further information.
