Step back in time to see the practically perfect nanny, “Mary Poppins” performed at the Civic Theatre from Nov. 18 to Dec. 18 during this jolly holiday season. This supercalifragilisticexpialidocious musical will show you that anything can happen if you let it and can be fun for the whole family.

Emily Diener will be playing Mary Poppins. She has been a part of the theater community for almost 20 years. Her favorite song in the show is also the hardest in her opinion, in her words, “Supercal (Supercalifragilisticexpialidocoius), because the majority of the song is high energy. But I love it because it is fun and colorful.”

“Mary Poppins” is about a nanny and the two children she takes care of. They go on adventures with the chimney sweep Bert, too. “Mary Poppins” is based off of the book series with the same name as well as the 1964 movie starring Julie Andrews and Dick VanDyke.

This musical will have you laughing out loud and feeling like a child once again. It might even make you want to go fly a kite or feed the birds. Tickets for “Mary Poppins” can be purchased at the Civic Theatre’s website.
