The GRCC Players’ will be performing their production of “A Doll’s House, Part Two” written by Lucas Hnath, Thursday through Saturday at Spectrum Theater. The play picks up on the ending of the 1879 version of the play by Henrik Ibsen.
The original Norwegian story is a three-act play that follows Nora Hemler, a disillusioned housewife who “makes the shocking decision to leave her husband and children, and begin a life on her own. This climactic event—when Nora slams the door on everything in her life—instantly propelled world drama into the modern age,” reads the summary of the final scene on the Grand Rapids Community College website.
The second part, performed at GRCC, will continue with Nora and her return to those she left behind.
The play will be performed by the GRCC Players and the production will take place at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10 through Saturday, Nov 12, in the Spectrum Theater located at 160 Fountain St. NE. Admission to the play varies. Tickets for Grand Rapids Community College students are $5. GRCC Faculty and staff tickets are $10. General admission is $14. Purchase tickets here.
