As Grand Rapids Community College students enter the final stretch of the semester, the Library and Learning Commons will be hosting an Exam Cram for the week of April 17-22.

The Collegiate reached out to the Director of Library and Learning Commons, Brian Beecher, for more information about the Exam Cram this week.

“This week, students can grab a quick snack, hot coffee and tea to keep them energized as they prepare for exams,” stated Beecher.

Student Alliance and The Library and Learning Commons have partnered to provide food and drinks all week long for the Exam Cram. There will be a variety of chips, cookies, fruit gummies, and candy.

“We hope to provide a nice, quiet environment for our students to comfortably sit and prepare for the end of classes,” Beecher stated.

This year, the new Yoga Club collaborated with the Library and Learning Commons to host a free yoga session for Exam Cram. The event will be instructed by a GRCC student who is a certified yoga instructor. The yoga session will be on Tuesday, April 18 from 10-11 a.m. in the LRC, room 206.

GRCC has had Exam Crams for 12 years, and though COVID has still left a mark on in-person event attendance, Beecher states that the library is still a popular student destination.

“The library can be filled with up to 60 students using the library at the same time,” he said. “Hundreds of students use the library everyday. We’re glad to be considered one of the main student hubs of campus,”
