The Upheaval music festival is returning to Grand Rapids. Between Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15, 30 heavy metal bands will take the stage at Belknap Park, with two after shows scheduled for both days.
Doors open at 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, with shows scheduled until 11 p.m.
Fifteen bands are scheduled for each day, with some of the highlights being big names like Halestorm, Bring Me The Horizon, Falling in Reverse, and Ice Nine Kills. There are several smaller bands as well, giving metal enthusiasts an opportunity to experience local artists like Dylan Delato and Deadlight Holiday.
According to their website, Upheaval Festival is an all-ages event held outdoors, rain or shine. Large backpacks are not allowed. They allow empty reusable water bottles and promise a number of food vendors will be in attendance for anyone who gets hungry during the 10-hour festival.
Tickets are available for two-day and single-day passes on the official website. As of this writing, a two-day pass is $179 and a single-day pass is $95. After show tickets are an additional $25.
