Dave Serio, a representative of the Arab American Museum in Dearborn and curator of the Arab Film Festival, will be at Grand Rapids Community College this Thursday, Nov. 14. The event will be held in the Applied Technology Center (ATC) room 122 with two sessions one from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and the other from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
This event will be centered around Arab American culture providing the public and GRCC students with a further understanding of, “how to better engage, support and affirm Arab American peoples and their history,” according to Jamillya Hardley, the Director of the Woodrick Center for Inclusion and Multicultural Affairs.
Serio’s primary role is to provide meaningful conversations to all people curious about the past, present and future of Arab Americans.
Hardley also mentioned that GRCC will be planning a trip for students to visit the Arab American Museum during the winter semester.
