During the colder months in fall, sickness begins to spread. Those who want to take steps to protect themselves from illness, can visit the Grand Rapids Community College’s pop-up vaccine clinic Thursday, Nov. 13.
“It’s flu season, and students are on a crowded campus…Vaccines are an easy way they can prevent illness,” said GRCC’s resident Clinical Nurse Specialist Tiara Rudinski, on a phone call with The Collegiate.
The Center for Student Life & Leadership will have influenza and COVID-19 boosters that are available to the public at ATC room 223 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13. It will be closed from 1 – 2 p.m. for lunch.
It is recommended that you bring an insurance card with you, however you can pay out of pocket for it as well. The cost of a flu shot is $20, while the cost of a COVID booster is $160. Remember, if you are sick, it is important to rest, drink water, and wash your hands frequently.
