The theater program at Grand Rapids Community College plans to reveal the 2024-2025 lineup at an open house Tuesday, Sept. 3. The event will be held at Spectrum Theater from 1 p.m – 4 p.m. Light refreshments as well as GRCC theater merchandise will be available for those attending.

Tom Kaechele, director of Spectrum Theater, said they will also be sharing information on how to get involved. He encourages anyone with interest in theater, regardless if they are enrolled in theater specific classes, to attend the event to become more familiar with how the program works.

“If you are a GRCC student you are welcome to audition or participate in any of the shows that we are doing,” he said. “We welcome everyone.”

Kaechele said he is used to seeing new faces each semester and is looking forward to the beginning of the season. He expressed admiration toward the program and commented on what it’s like to be a part of it.

“The students and faculty are excellent and we have a lot of fun around here. We do a lot of work, don’t get me wrong, but we have a lot of fun while we’re doing it,” he said.

The open house marks the beginning of what GRCC Theater has planned for the semester. To stay updated on productions and other events they have planned, check out the Spectrum Theater calendar. More information on upcoming events will be provided after the open house.
