GRCC Players’ production of ‘The Outsider’ opens Nov. 14 at Spectrum Theater

On Nov. 14-16, from 7:30 p.m to 9:30 p.m, Grand Rapids Community College is hosting its third play of the year titled “The Outsiderby Paul Slade Smith, a production by the GRCC players. This play is directed by Tom Kaechele, the theater department program director.

“Ned Newley, doesn’t even want to be governor. He’s terrified of public speaking and his poll numbers are impressively bad. To his ever-supportive Chief of Staff, Ned seems destined to fail. But political consultant Arthur Vance sees things differently: Ned might be the worst candidate to ever run for office. Unless the public is looking for… the worst candidate to ever run for office.”

The play has a runtime of 1 hour and 55 minutes.You can purchase tickets here. Prices are $5 for GRCC students, $10 for faculty and staff and $15 for general admission. 

This performance will take place at GRCC’s Spectrum Theater located at 160 Fountain St. NE.

This timely play tells the hysterical story of what can occur when an improbable candidate is captured into the limelight. Come out and support the amazing hard work and dedication these students have put in order to put together this play!
