The Raiders went on a three-day trip to Sandusky, Ohio from March 28 to 30. They played five games and won them all bringing their record to 20-1 on the season. The Raiders started off the weekend on Friday with a double header against Mid Michigan College Lakers and Bay College Norse winning 11-2 the first game and 20-0 the second.
Game one
In their game against the Lakers, the Raiders started off hot offensively, scoring nine runs in the first three innings, and two more runs between the fourth and fifth innings. The Raiders starting pitcher freshman Kalani Stowe pitched and batted a great game. She allowed two runs on only three hits for the game. Stowe recorded eight strikeouts and three walks through five innings pitching and went 2-4 from the plate with one of those hits being a 2-run home run in the third.
Game two
The Raiders offense was on fire in their second game scoring 20 runs in five innings on 18 hits. They held the Norse to zero runs and only one hit for the game. Freshman Evelyn McEachen went 4-4 in the game, with two doubles and three RBIs, and freshman Natalee Beck went 2-3 with 5 RBIs off a double and a triple.
Game three
In the Raiders first game of the double header on Saturday, March 29, the Raiders faced Alpena Community College taking the win 16-7. The offense was the story once again for this game as the Raiders recorded 17 hits, with each player in the lineup recording at least one of those hits. Both Beck and freshman Paige Arthur recorded their first home runs of their college careers.
Game four
In the second game of the day, pitching was the highlight of the game, as the Raiders beat Delta College 3-0. The Raiders had a season low of three hits in the game, two of them coming off the bat of freshman Grace Chisek. Beck recorded the third hit which was a leadoff double in the first, later scoring off an RBI double from Chisek. Stowe was the highlight of the game as she pitched a complete game, only allowing two hits and striking out 12 batters.
Game five
The Raiders played Muskegon Community College in their final game of the five-game series. They won 4-1 led by both pitching and hitting from Stowe as she went 3-4 from the plate including a leadoff double to start the game later scoring off an RBI single from Beck. Chisek recorded her first collegiate home run in the fifth inning. Stowe once again had a pitching masterclass only allowing three hits and recording 12 strikeouts through seven innings.
With the Raiders going 5-0 in Ohio, they continue their record-breaking start of the season as they bring their record to 20-1, and 7-0 in the conference. The Raiders play on the road at Glen Oaks on Tuesday, April 1, in a doubleheader.
