Grand Rapids Community College men’s basketball improved to 15-5 overall and 5-1 in conference play, defeating Lansing Community College 93-77. The victory also snaps a five-game losing streak to Lansing CC dating back to 2022.

The Raiders defense led the way in the decisive win, holding Lansing to only 36 percent shooting from the field as a team, the third lowest percentage for a Raider opponent this season. They also held them to just 15 percent from 3-point range.

Sophomore forward Matthew Richards posted a career night with 18 rebounds, including nine offensive rebounds, and 14 points. Sophomore guard Tyran Thomas finished with 24 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Sophomore guard Zeek Jackson had 15 points, six rebounds, and five assists of his own.

The Raiders look to build off their impressive win on Monday Feb. 2, traveling to Benton Harbor, Michigan to take on Lake Michigan College at 7:30 p.m.
