The Grand Rapids Community College women’s basketball team’s five-game winning streak came to an end when they lost to Lansing Community College 41-86 in the first game of a double header Friday night at Ford Fieldhouse.

The Raiders, now 15-6 (4-1) on the season, were held to a season low 41 points and committed 31 turnovers as a team during the Jan. 30 matchup. Combined with shooting only 19.7 percent from the floor, the team looks to regroup following an uncharacteristic performance.

Sophomore Averi Peot was the leading scorer for the raiders with 14 points and eight rebounds. Raiders forced 24 Lansing turnovers with Sophomore guard Harmonie Belton and Freshman guard Alison Rockburn each recording four steals.

Head Coach David Glazier says growth for his team has “already started.” Glazier went on saying, “You know, good conversation in the locker room. Really good teams are coach led, but teams that end up or have the ability to be great are player led, and that conversation, that was a player lead conversation.”

The Raiders look to bounce back on the road against Lake Michigan College on Monday Feb. 2 at 5:30 p.m.
