All GRCC students are invited to the Winter Dance on March 27 from 7 to 10 .p.m, organized by the Campus Activities Board (CAB). The night is expected to be full of music, free food, and friends. The event will take place at Secchia Piazza in GRCC’s Applied Technology Center. Since there is a limit for how many people can be in this space, students are encouraged to RSVP to secure a spot.

The event has an estimated budget of $5,000, ensuring a high-quality evening. Even with the high-end budget, students still get in for free and can even invite one non-GRCC friend, making the event an excellent opportunity.

After asking CAB President Lacey Hendrie for a sneak peek at the event details, she agreed despite the planning for the event being unfinished. Hendrie said the theme is “decade dance,” with “a variety of popular music from different decades with lots of current hits as well.”

When asked whether there would be a DJ, Hendrie said there would be a professional DJ, not a student DJ. “We did talk to a student about doing the event, but they weren’t free on the event date, so we ended up going with someone else that we had used for the homecoming dance,” Hendrie said. This means that if students enjoyed the DJ from the Homecoming Dance, they can expect a similar experience at the Winter Dance.

Hendrie said food planning for the dance is still in progress. Even though the menu has yet to be settled,  Hendrie said students will be able to eat for free at the event.

With popular music, a well-funded set-up, and free food, organizers hope the Winter dance will give students an unforgettable experience. As the date approaches, all that is left is to see how many Raiders hit the dance floor.
