The International Guitar Series continues Thursday, February 10 with The Andreas Kapsalis & Goran Ivanovic Guitar Duo.

Playing a genre of their own, a mix between classical, jazz, folk and rock, Kapsalis and Ivanovic blend their abilities in a unique way.

Although Ivanovic originally studied classical guitar in Austria, he came to the states in 1997. Kapsalis on the other hand is self taught.

They not only blend genres, but they blend backgrounds to bring an original sound to audiences.

Originally composing nearly all of the songs they perform, the duo has one self-titled CD to date.

During an interview with The Kalamazoo Gazzette, Kapsalis said, “Since we perform our own compositions we have more of a personal investment in them. We want to make sure we’re delivering as much energy and as much life as possible.”

The third of a series of four guitar recitals, the duo is set to play at 7:30 in the Music Center’s Recital Room 200.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students and seniors.

The next perfromance, played by Adam Holzer,  will be on Thursday, March 24 at the same place and time.
